About CONNECTIONS Training
The SUNY CONNECTIONS Training Project provides
local district and voluntary agency staff with training experiences
to aid in the comprehensive knowledge of the New York State Child
Welfare documentation system, CONNECTIONS, necessary to fulfill basic
job responsibilities. The
project provides a range of supports to users, including
but not limited to:
- New curricula and associated learning materials
- Instructor-led classroom and computer lab training
- Step-by-Step Guides
- Tip Sheets
- Training videos
- Self instructional and distance learning forms of training tools
- Comprehensive and accurate online help
- Support for new builds and other changes in functionality
- Technical support in the development and design of web-based materials
- Other administrative activities in support of Connections
The Project also works collaboratively with
other contracting agencies to provide integrated training events
for child welfare workers. These
activities reduce the amount of participant travel needed
to attend training and increase the understanding of how the CONNECTIONS
system works as a decision-making tool in direct support of the programmatic
aspects of child welfare work.
